MAIN

The MAIN project is being supported
through the European Commission’s
Asia Urbs Programme: MAIN will run for two years. The MAIN project has been created to disseminate to local, regional and city government throughout China ‘best practice’ for the development, planning & implementation of intelligent public transport systems together with information about sustainable transport policies. It is intended that the project will enable Chinese counterparts to learn from the European partners thus facilitating the transfer of knowledge.

The MAIN project will also have a demonstration element, in which the European Commission’s Asia Urbs Programme will part-fund the planning, development and installation of a real time information system in the Ningbo City Area. This real time information system will be fully evaluated providing further information for other Chinese Cities, where there is a tremendous potential for the use of real time information systems and other intelligent public transport systems.
